Undocumented (deprecated?) keyboard shortcut for pencil tool

In the Wiki glossary at http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Inkscape_glossary, I found this description:

Pressing "Ctrl" and then releasing lifts the pencil. Dragging again will put the pencil back to the canvas.

1. This isn't documented anywhere (not even in Tav's manual)
2. This sounds as if those two paths that are created would be separate subpaths, but what it does is it creates a straight line between both parts of the path.

Is the functionality broken? Should it be fixed (i.e. bug report in Inkscape)?
Should this be documented?

Hhm. Maybe this report is not for inkscape-docs, but rather for inkscape itself?

Sorry, I didn't notice the report when it was created.

It indeed needs some investigations to find out what the original behavior was. And then, yes, it should be documented. But now that the K&M is quite stable, I'd link the report to 0.93.

@Maren - Just for your information, I often assign documentation reports to myself as a reminder. Consider that if the status is Triaged, I'm not currently working on it and you can reassign if you wish to fix it yourself.
