Bug Description

I have Inkscape 0.91+devel r. I have compiled it from source on Ubuntu 14.04 and was trying to create a style sheet.

As per the Inkscape manual link at [1], after I followed step 5 and dragging svg:style element on <svg:g>, if I press Ctrl+Z multiple times and when svg:style element is deleted, Inkscape crashes with the message:

Inkscape encountered an internal error and will close now.
Automatic backups of unsaved documents were done to the following locations:
/home/kamal/New document 1.2016_03_09_17_05_43.0.svg

I consider the deletion of svg:style causes the crash.

Thanks for taking the time to file a report!

Bug almost reproduced on Windows 7, Inkscape 0.91 (32-bit). Inkscape doesn't crashes when undoing, but crashes when redoing after undoing twice.
Not reproduced at all with trunk rev. 14707, same computer.

Could you please try to reproduce with the most recent trunk revision and confirm it's fixed for you too?
Thanks!

The crash on _undo_ reproduces (with 0.47, 0.48.5, 0.91 and 0.91+devel r14707, on OS X) after having dragged “svg:style element _on_ <svg:g>” (instead of “_above_” the first layer, as described in step 5 in the referenced manual section).

Thanks ~suv, and nice to see you back ;)

Confirmed when dragging _on_ the <svg:g> and instead of _above_ <svg:svg> (yes, I tried with the wrong element...).

New backtrace attached, with some small differences.

Seems the store of the undo is done previously set ID to the node. The crash happens at the creation step. I hope tomorrow can look It deeper.

Its great see you again ~suv!

Hi - thanks for reporting this bug, as part of the migration to Inkscape's new bug tracker on GitLab, I've closed this issue (set it to Invalid)

I believe this is duplicated by https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/issues/142

The backtrace for undo is the same and I have looked into the above issue before. This sounds and looks the same!

Please feel free to file new bugs about the issues you're seeing at
