Bug Description

This is actually a feature request.

It would be a really nice feature if a clip-art directory could be set. Inkscape should transverse the directory and all svg-files found should be displayed in a hirarchical (including folders) list, selectable from a dialog (attachable, same as e.g. color picker) for import.

I don't get it .. doesn't "import" already do that?

Yes, in principle you can import any figure you want. But I was thinking something similar to what is available in the menu File/Import clip art image... but available directly in the editing window. This is very handy if you draw for example system sketches (en my case electrical) where you have a library of standard component images that you reuse allot.

I did a mock-up example of how I imagine it should look like which is attached.
