Closed without error after Objects to Pattern and lost work

Bug Description

Had finished a small drawing with say 10-15 objects (after a couple of hours of it open), then used "objects to pattern" which completed ok. Then simply clicking around on the screen somewhere (sorry, but can't be more specific) the entire app disappeared and that was it - all gone. I had three separate instances running, but after this only the first two. No warning/error, it just disappeared. I should of course remember to save!

Note, was running the 64 bit version on 64 bit Windows 7 VM on Windows 10 64 bit Dell M3800 machine.

I would give more information if I had it but can't find any. Perhaps someone else has experienced this?

Aside from this, great program to use (first time I used this was tonight). Thanks.

Thanks for your report!

A related (and maybe duplicate) report was added recently:
Bug #1445982 "Crashes when changing object to pattern"
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1445982>

Could you please confirm it's the same issue?

Hi,

Yep looks to be the same issue as am also using 0.91 64-bit on Windows 7
professional (even though in VM) however the context is slightly different.
The things that seem of specific note in my case are:

- the objects to pattern function had finished before it closed suddenly,
which I guess points to a memory issue of some sort relating to the function
(as had just checked the result before it disappeared).
- I had not saved or imported any file at the point of crashing, simply just
drawn various lines and bezier curves which I converted to a pattern

I tried to find a similar issue before raising my one, but I think you can
definitely link these issues now.

Thanks,
Julian
