Bug Description
This doesn't happen all the time, but often enough to be annoying: when I try and paste a screenprint directly into Inkscape 0.91, the application crashes. This is without creating a backup and without allowing me to save. It also sometimes happens if I try to import images from folders on the PC

Which installer did you use for Inkscape 0.91 - 32bit or 64bit?
If it only happens with certain images (consistently), please attach a test case to the bug report to allow testing on other systems, thank you.
If you use the 64bit installer, and the crash is triggered seemingly at random, e.g. depending on the current session (which files with which content had been opened already), and on the image type of the imported (or pasted) bitmap image, then this is likely the same underlying issue as tracked in /bugs.launchpad .net/inkscape/ +bug/1467103
