Bug Description
On Inkscape 0.91 r13725 you cant set a transparent color on a clone of an object.
This seems to be a long standing issue from at least since 0.48 as reported here https:/
1 - Create any object
2 - Set it's fill to "Unset pain"
2 - Make a clone of it using Alt+D
3 - Try setting the fill of the clone to any color with alpha different from 255
4 - Object will remain opaque no matter what
Analyzing the XML Editor this seems to be cause by the original object retaining a line with style information, one of which is "Fill-opacity", which prevents clones from being non-opaque. Deleting this property in the XML editor solves the problem.
This some times also seems to prevent applying some radial gradient fills, though I have not been able to recreate this consistently.
AFAIU this is a duplicate of /bugs.launchpad .net/inkscape/ +bug/1183400
