widgets not removed when removing envelope path effect

Bug Description
Inkscape 0.91 on MacOS 10.9.5
It seems as if sometimes, the widgets of a path effect aren't removed when I remove the effect. See attached screenshot, where I have
- added an "Envelope" path effect
- made the top bend path editable on canvas
- moved top right point and handle around
- removed path effect by clicking on "minus" button
The effect's controls as well as the top left bezier handle of the envelope are still there. When I deselect and re-select my object, the effects panel is redrawn and the widgets are gone.
