Inkscape dies an unhappy death with 4K portrait mode resolution

Bug Description

Running Inkscape full screen on a 4K monitor in portrait mode causes Inkscape to die. I have tried this on FreeBSD and Windows and the problem exists in both ports. In Windows Inkscape will exit after display glitching. In FreeBSD the display rendering will glitch. The viewport can be moved around and resized but does not redraw correctly. Toolbar buttons and menus do not respond to clicks. Version 0.91 on both OSes.

Given no further input from OP, very similar symptoms and likely to be same root cause, closing as duplicate of bug #1196761.
