infinite loop in handling vector patterns from fonts

I created a pattern from a cropped font character and tried to apply it to an object. Inkscape doesn't like it at all...

Affect both inkscape 0.91-9 on arch x86_64 and and 0.91-2.fc21 on fedora x86_64

On OS X 10.7.5:
- reproduced with Inkscape 0.91 r13725 on OS X 10.7.5
  (the application is still responsive, but uses 100% CPU)
- not reproduced with Inkscape 0.91+devel r14363

Based on tests with archived builds:
- reproduced with rev <= 13638,
- not reproduced with rev >= 13646;
this was likely fixed in the experimental branch which was merged back into trunk in r13641 (after the stable release branch had been created):

(I don't have archived builds of the experimental branch, and cannot narrow down which commit(s) there fixed this)

If confirmed with current trunk on a different platform, this report could be closed as 'Fix Committed' and milestone 0.92.
