Incorrect cairo-based exports of text with gradient using gradientUnits="objectBoundingBox"

Bug #1483594 reported by su_v on 2015-08-11

Bug Description

Inkscape fails to correctly export text with gradient fill to PDF/PS/EPS if the gradient is defined with gradientUnits="objectBoundingBox".

Attached files:
- SVG (hand-coded)
- Inkscape PNG export
- Inkscape Cairo PNG, PDF, PS, EPS
- rsvg-convert PNG, PDF, PS, EPS

Tests done with Inkscape 0.91+devel r14285, cairo 1.14.2, librsvg 2.40.10, evince 3.16.1 on OS X 10.7.5.

- Inkscape does not write gradient definitions using 'objectBoundingBox' as gradientUnits, but it does support rendering them on-canvas correctly if encountered in third-party SVG files.
- This report is based on the PDF export question originally asked here:

Reproduced on Xubuntu 15.10, Inkscape 0.91 and trunk rev. 14732 (libcairo2-1.14.2-2ubuntu2, librsvg2-2.40.10-1).

Changed in inkscape:
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: New → Triaged
