User gets sent to http://
It would be better to present the user with a page that explains the options for asking question and that the user need an account to ask on the website if that is the case.
Also info about IRC could be put on the page."
Update as of Sept 2016:
Because of shortcomings of the answers section and spam, the link in 0.92 was changed to go to a redirect at inkscape.org. We can change the target of the redirect any time when we have found a better place for users to go to (e.g. a forum).
For users of older Inkscape versions, this problem cannot be solved without launchpad developers adding at least an option to add some text, or even better, the planned option to add a redirect.

I can imagine these two options:
- link to http:// answers. launchpad. net/inkscape/ (without the '+addquestion') - then it would be obvious that you need to sign in, but you can also browse through the old ones first.
- link to the proposed, but not-yet-existing 'Contact Us' page (see https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/inkscape- web/+bug/ 1423233)
The first option appears to be the easier/ quicker/ safer solution to me (as to possible later changes to page structure, not yet written contents).
