Please attach a test case (SVG file) that triggers the reported issue under Mint/KDE to allow further investigate the reported issue on other systems.

Which theme/theme engine for GTK2 applications do you use under KDE?
If this affects _any_ file opened in Inkscape, and based on the described symptom, this could be a "known" bug in the qtcurve theme engine used under KDE for GTK2 application, reported several times recently (see e.g. bug #1422479, bug #1463877, bug #1469727). I guess the fix for this would be a new qtcurve release which includes commits earlier this year to improve the GTK2 theme engine (it is not an Inkscape bug AFAICT).

Changed in inkscape:

Hi all!

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Could be a Theme problem while I use QtCurve theme (qtcurve packages where installed from synaptic ).
Meanwhile I purge inkscape 0.91 installation and install inkscape 0.48.4 from trusty repositories.

0.48.4 working well on current configuration.

This is my first bug report so I'm not used to report properly a bug.

I would like to help with test case but I didn't know how to do it.

Do you mean the .svg file opened at crash? (my work file?)
If so, the file is not in same condition as changed with 0.48.4 version (which working well on my current configuration as I said previously).
