forgetting "Guess from extension" option

I really don't understand how anybody imagines using the "Guess from extension" option in the Save dialog.

The option makes sense to be quickly able to select the file type just from typing the extension behing filename. It is really convenient, I am using it in the GIMP and even in the Inkscape after some personal code editing.

But in the standard Inkscape the option is completely useless. Inkscape is not able to remember it. To select the "Guess from extension" option one have to select the least option in the menu (usually behind the screen) which is slower then selecting just the filetype which one want to use. And even when the option "Guess from extension" is used and then typed for example extension ".pdf" the next time saving a file the default option is "PDF", not "Guess from extension"!
