Unable to edit parameters on "xml editor"

On Windows 7 , and inkscape version 0.48. Language is set in Japanese.

When I open the xml editor and select any object, boxes under the attribute:value table is grayed out and no input are accepted.
Some examples by other users showed that attribute codes are displayed and accept the input of users. In my case, when I select any attribute:value set, no information is shown in the box, and no input are allowed.

Not reproduced on Crunchbang Waldorf, Inkscape 0.48.3.1 and trunk rev. 14205.
