Inkscape doesn't recognize fonts

Fonts have been installed with skyfonts (!) manager. Incskape Version 0.91 installed by msi installer on Windows 8.1. Skyfonts downloads fonts to an AppData/Roaming folder. In Scribus, adding this folder to the scribus extended font paths just worked fine.
font's are correctly installed (by skyfonts). I suppose, "installing", on windows does not mean copying to c:\Windows\Fonts

Inkscape maybe is wrongly interpreting "installing" as copying there.. But that's just a guess...

Add: The inkscape portable version from portable apps works just fine.
