Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:
1. Draw two 3D boxes.
2. Select the second one.
3. Modify the 3D box options (enable/disable a vanishing point or modify an angle value).
-> The change also affects the first (unselected!) 3D box.

4. Move the second 3D box with the selection tool.
5. Back with the 3D box tool, change an option again.
-> Now the change affects the second 3D box only.

Investigations with the XML editor show that before step 4, the two 3D boxes share the same perspective definition. After 4, each 3D box has a separate one.

Reproduced on Crunchbang Waldorf, Inkscape 0.48.3.1 and 0.91.x branch revision 13735.

AFAIU that's by design - if you want to move a 3dbox without affecting (actually forking) the perspective, use the move handle of the 3dbox tool.

It seems, yes. But isn't that behavior quite inconsistent with the one of the other tools?

I suppose it's be harder to merge 3D points of multiple 3Dboxes than to break them (e.g. by just moving), so this was chosen as default. Not sure what other tools allow sharing of any points with previous shapes, so I wouldn't say it's inconsistent with any of them.

Let's continue this conversation in the new bugtracker though (inkscape.org/report).
