that's true, I had forgotten about that.
However I should probably clarify, the intent here is not to actually permanently disable the preview, the intent is simply to remember the last setting the next time you open Inkscape. If this were remembered then the native dialogs would be behaving the same as the gtk dialogs currently behave.
