AFAICT the same underlying issue as already tracked in /bugs.launchpad .net/inkscape/ +bug/200899>
- Bug #200899 “Font style ignored in eps/pdf output”
<https:/
The font provided in the tar archive does not have a an italic style variant - the "faux" (aka "synthesized") italic which can be applied in Inkscape <= 0.48 is not supported in cairo-based exports (PDF/PS/EPS).
Upcoming 0.91 will no longer support to apply "faux" (synthesized) font styles (see also http:// tavmjong. free.fr/ blog/?p= 822 ).
Proposing to link as duplicate to bug #200899.
