Inkscape can't load external objects

When using external ressources i feel like somethings are unsupported :
For example, when you add an object in defs you can reuse is with use tag and xlink:href=#myid. This works when the object is defined in the actual document but not when the link refers to an external file like xlink:href=myfile#myid

Same problem when an svg is imported as an image svg:image, i seems that if the linked file is modified, the update is not done.
