Bug Description

Follow-up to Bug #662150 "Indian Rupee: <ctrl-shift-u> 2 0 b 9 <enter> reports unprintable".

Reproduced on Windows XP, French keyboard layout, Inkscape 0.45.1, 0.48.5 and 0.91.x rev 13633.

Steps:
1. Select the Text tool.
2. Switch to Unicode mode with Ctrl+U
3. Type some characters with the numeric pad.
-> the text doesn't show in the notification region of the status bar.

No problem when using the alphanumeric keyboard instead of the numpad.
