Bug Description
Inkscape crashes upon clicking "open...", keying ctrl+O or launching it from shell with "inkscape anyfile.svg".
I'm using Mint17 with "Inkscape 0.48.4 r9939 (Jan 22 2014)" which comes as default in mint17 repos.
