Bug Description
Dear experts,
I encountered following issue:
When starting inkscape via command line:
(inkscape:6776): Gdk-CRITICAL **: IA__gdk_
Inkscape starts and is usable so I did not care until I started to use Sozi (sozi.baierouge
Each time I run the sozi script inside inkscape I get a pop up with the same warning message as above. So using sozi is very annoying, but I think it is more Inkscape or gnome related than sozi.
Running Gnome3/gnome shell on Arch linux with inkscape 0.48.5 r10040.

I'm not seeing this behavior on my system. Do you ssh into your terminal before starting Inkscape, or use a VM? If you're using ssh, be sure to use the -X flag.
Do you get this assertion failure on any other gtk-based applications, like gedit or evince?
Does it still happen if you explicitly `export DISPLAY=:0` before launching inkscape?
