Not reproduced with 0.48+devel r13407, r13454 (default new prefs, default new document (locale: en_US)) on OS X 10.7.5 (local build, not installed via MacPorts' "inkscape-devel" port).

Can you confirm you drew *two* scribbles? I can do this reliably on my machine.

FWIW, I got the latest from ports
MacBook Air: 10.9.2, 18GHz Intel Core i5, 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Inkscape 0.48+devel r13453 custom

Crash still happens, just drawing with mouse and no tablet hooked up.

Anyone else want to try?

@Mitti - Could you please attach an example SVG file with your two scribbles, in case there's something special in your document that triggers the crash?
