On OS X 10.7.5:
- reproduced with Inkscape 0.48.4 r9939, r10025
- not reproduced with 0.48+devel r13393

Based on tests with archived builds:
- reproduced with rev <= 12470,
- not reproduced with rev >= 12471;
 this appears to have been fixed by the changes of the GSoC unit refactoring branch which was merged in revision 12471:
