Bug Description
I use Inkscape for drawing schemes and sometimes I need to align a node along the X and Y axis using the other node. The only way I can do that is to use two guides.
In AutoCAD there is object snap called "Extension": you need to pull the node to another node which set x coordinate and then move the mouse in expected location of intersection point, and two guides will appear, so you can move the node exactly in the right place (where two perpendicular lines intersect each other). It is much faster and much more convenient than using guides in Inkscape.
Here is the example:

Is it possible to add such snap mode in Inkscape?
