Bug Description

Hi,

Inkscape compiled from trunk does not seem to load preferences.xml file that I save in config directory.

I compiled Inkscape 0.48 from trunk on OS X Mavericks using default clang and libc++.

What I tried:
By default, the paths drawn using Pen or Pencil Tools will have black-fill, and no stroke. I would like the default to be no-fill, and black stroke. So I modified the files in ~/.config/inkscape/preferences.xml However, once I re-opened inkscape compiled from trunk (src/inkscape) the default strokes didn't reflect what I saved in preferences.xml

However, I opened Inkscape App that I installed separately as an application on Mac and it loaded preferences.xml and drew the strokes as I expected.

I suspected that src/inkscape had a separate config directory, but that didn't seem to be the case. The plugins in ~/.config/inkscape/extensions were loaded properly. The file default.svg I saved in ~/.config/inkscape/palettes was also loaded properly.

Thanks for your help.
