Please provide information about OS/platform and Inkscape version (see Inkscape menu 'Help > About Inkscape') with each report you file, thx.

To allow further investigation of the reported issue, please attach two sample files: the document with the original object, and a copy saved after the reported issue has occurred.

I believe the effect I was seeing was colour jitter some how being applied to layers in objects - again I've been unable to reproduce then same effect but this was one of a series of issues I was having to deal with simultaneously whilst working to a deadline so I wasn't solely concentrating on the steps I'd taken to get this to occur.

Possibly the original layer had a blend mode applied, and when copying objects to another layer or document, the layer blend mode inherited by the copy&pasted object may result in rendering artifacts (especially if the target layer at some point also uses a blend mode).

The unexpected inheritance of layer styles is tracked in bug #233800; rendering artifacts with feBlend in bug #502170. Without an example or steps to reproduce, there is however no way to verify what the original problem was.

Closing due to lack of a suitable test case which would allow further investigation of the reported problem.

Please feel free to reopen the report in case it re-occurs with latest stable Inkscape 0.91, and attach a test case (SVG files, ideally two versions: one saved before (or a backup), and one after the described effect was observed.)
