Caligraphy pen dosn't keep up

The pens do not keep up with drawing i.e a simple hatching or cross hatching action
I have test this on

Windows 7
Windows 8 Surface Pro - Cintq Wacom tablet and bamboo

My graphics card is a Geforce GTS 250 and I have 32 gigs of ram

It would be good if the vector brush/ pencils could be as fast as flash in mark making

really simply

Draw and fill - it just works

Same problem with both the calligraphy and freehand tools. Significant lag in the trace display, although the eventual result still works fine. Using version 0.91 r13725

Do NOT have this problem on version 0.91 pre2 r13516 which works just fine on both tools.

1) Does hiding the ruler help?
2) Which installer did you use (for pre2 as well as for the release) - 32bit or 64bit?

Could be related to bug #1416653, bug #1415689 -> bug #1351597
