All objects in the file disappeared

Bug Description
Hi,
While I'm changing page size, all my work in inkscape file disappeared.
But when I press ctrl+A, i find in the banner "667 objects of 5 types in layer 1"
and when i copy and paste in another file, the objects appear changed and disorganized.
I attached the file for review.

Confirmed on Windows XP, Inkscape 0.48.4 and trunk revision 12994.
The bug seems to be due to a path with a spiro path effect.
Note that with r12994 the original file hangs the application. It's very slow with the reduced test file, but it shows the reported bug.
