gradient creation by dragging on a snap target doesn't work

Bug Description
It doesn't seam to be possible to drag out a gradient while the cursor
is over a snap target: X and the snap message is displayed,
if one waits until the snap message goes away or
if the cursor is to one side of the snap target: X ,
then it works.
Tested with:
r12841 on linux mint 15 cinnamon 32bit

On OS X 10.7.5,
- not reproduced with Inkscape 0.47
- reproduced with 0.48.0, 0.48.4 and current trunk (r12981)
