Bug Description
Using inkscape 0.48.4 on Linux Mint 15 Olivia (which is based on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail), using the inkscape package from the main repo and also the stable package from the ppa: Text tool seems to be broken, I typed some text, then I tried to change the alignment from left to centred, nothing happened. Also tried changing it before typing text, still no effect. Also tried changing font from Sans to Liberation Serif and there was no effect on the display although in the toolbar it did seem to think the font was Liberation Serif even though the text I typed was drawn in Sans. I tried this several ways too, changing the font before typing the text, selecting the text and then changing the font, etc... reverting to 0.48.3 fixed the problem for me, although I had to compile it myself, so I'm not sure if this is an artifact of the packaging or a genuine Inkscape issue, can anybody else confirm the issue? I guess if necessary I could try to compile 0.48.4 myself instead of using the package but I'm quite busy atm, so hopefully this isn't needed?
Not reproduced on Windows XP, Inkscape 0.48.4 and trunk revision 12845.
