Selection does not delete

Bug Description

Hello.

version: Inkscape 0.48+devel r12685
processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) Quadcore i5 CPU M520 @ 2.40GHz
RAM: 8GB
graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 545v
OS: Windows 7 64bit Service Pack 1

If I select a shape and press the [DELETE] button, it does not delete. Neither does it delete if I press the [BACKSPACE] key. The only way I can delete a selection is by pressing [CTRL] + [X]

Not reproduced with r12685 and current r12795 on OS X 10.7.5.

Not reproduced on Windows 7 (32bit), Inkscape trunk revision 12825.

@sparkwoodand21 - Could you please test the latest Inkscape release (0.91, see https://inkscape.org/download/) and confirm the bug is fixed or not? Thanks!
