Crash during save causes data loss

Bug Description

I recently had Inkscape crash in the middle of saving a file. The resulting file saved to disk was truncated to about half its original size and no automatic backup file was generated, thus causing data loss. I do not know the cause of the error.

To prevent this happening in the future, I recommend that inkscape write to a new file when it saves, then rename the new file to the original file name only after it is completely written.

Highly annoying, about 5 days works down the drain. Yes, I know, I should have backuped, but still.
