xml:space="preserve" can't be deleted in XML editor

Bug Description

It seems it isn't possible to delete the xml:space="preserve" attribute from the root SVG element in the XML editor. I didn't even find a menu entry for it.

When trying to delete the attribute it disappears shortly only to reappear directly afterwards.

Confirmed on Windows XP, Inkscape 0.48.4 and trunk revision 12276.

Workaround: apart from removing the attribute in an external text editor, you can also change the value to "default" in the XML editor.
