Bug Description

Hello guys and gals!

FIrst of all thank you for such a great software.

I've found a bug while trying to open a really big tiff image (667mb).

The image can be found at:

http://www.naturalearthdata.com/downloads/10m-raster-data/10m-natural-earth2/

EDIT: the message box states out of memory. I've added the image as linked, instead of embbeded. I tried both modes (embbeded and link), and both crash.

The exact error is:

"Glib-ERROR**: gmem.c:239: failed to allocate 1073741824 bytes aborting..."

I'm on Windows 7. Inkscape version is 0.48.
