Bug Description

Package version: 0.48.3.1-1ubuntu6.1
OS: Ubuntu 12.10

Steps to reproduce:
- Open a file
- Go to File > Export bitmap...
- Choose Unit: cm
- Export
- Open PNG image with an image viewer

As you can see if you follow these steps, the image size is mm, not cm.

When I try it I get the export always in cm, never in mm. It's certainly broken in Q.

Thank you for the bug report.
Could you please reproduce this and attach a screenshot of the full export window. Other fields are important in the image size, mainly the dpi.
Also, what version of Inkscape are you using? What version and architecutre (i386 or amd64?) of Ubuntu?

Also the original SVG and resulting image would be helpful (if you don't feel comfortable sharing the image, a simple square is fine as long as the bug is reproduced).
Again, thank you.

As I wrote before in the report, I'm using Ubuntu 12.10.

Here's the svg, in the following comment the resulting png.

Ah, sorry, didn't see the Ubuntu version. My bad.
I think your problem is the "dpi" under the "Bitmap Size." I was able to get a close pixel size match with a value of 90.

To see what I mean by pixel size size match, change the units from "cm" to "px." They should match the "Bitmap Size" width an height. mess with the dpi until those values match the width and height from the export area.

Yeah, it is a bit confusing.

I'm sorry for being late.
JHN, you're right, it works fine with 90 dpi.

Thanks a lot, but do I have to setup this value every time I edit an image?

96 dpi is now the new default (was 90 dpi), so it should not be something the user needs to edit. If there is a case where this is not the default, please reopen or file a new bug. Thank you!
