Bug Description
0.48.3 and older versions, in the calligraphy tool "no preset" was a normal calligraphy feather, switched to another preset and back to "no preset" you had the feather back.
Now with 0.48.4 "no preset" is last used options, what means you will not get back an calligraphy feather as it is not under the presets, except you delete the preferences
AFAICT based on quick tests with old versions (0.47, 0.48, 0.48.1-0.48.4) on OS X, the behavior has not changed in stable releases since presets had been introduced for the calligraphy tool in Inkscape 0.47. There is no 'default' preset which could be restored with a single click / button (for the individual options, the default value can be chosen from the context menu).
A possible workaround is to save a new 'Default' preset right after launching Inkscape with new preferences - i.e. based on the initial default values (the style of that preset creates strokes similar to handwriting with a 'Quill pen' or 'Federkiel' in German). Thus one can "revert" to those initial settings by choosing the 'Default' preset.
