usability: fill & stroke dialog shownig gradient list for no reason

Bug Description

create a shape
switch to gradient editor (ctrlF1)
click and drag to create a gradient
=> until you release the mouse button the fill & stroke displays the gradient list, as soon as you release the mouse button it displays the fill color.
Why display the gradient list if one can't do anything with it ? It disturbs the eye for no good reason.
