setting radial gradient to swatch removes radialness (roundness) and flat color depressed

Bug #1085403 reported by insaner on 2012-12-01

Bug Description

create a circle, set its gradient to a radial gradient, now try to save that gradient as a swatch by clicking on the swatch button, and watch your beautiful radial gradient disappear and become a linear gradient!

or, before clicking on the swatch button, move the center of the gradient and watch the fill button switch to flat color (though you still have your gradient). now click on the swatch button and watch your radial gradient become linear, and the flat color button is still depressed.

strange.. but now that ive been studying a patch by John Smith (john-smithi) i might be able to get some coding and patching done.. (though i probably wont be able to start with this particular bug.. please, someone take a look at this!)

Yes, it appears that swatches can only contain linear gradients.

I confirm the shared gradient is stored as linear. To reuse the gradient, you have to select the gradient in the F&S dialog, swatch button, and then click on the radial gradient button. Not very handy indeed.
