Erroneous PDF export of simple line drawing

See attached SVG. When exported as PDF, an extra line appears. When PDF is imported, the line is still there.

Please provide information about your OS /platform (if you use linux, the version of cairo currently installed would be also important).

Very likely due to a known upstream bug in Cairo 1.10.2, tracked for Inkscape in
Bug #759154 “Open paths with aligned endpoints are closed in cairo-based exports (PDF/PS/EPS)”

Thanks for the quick reply. I have Windows 7 Professional, 64bit,
Service Pack 1. How can I update Cairo?

As normal user, you don't (libcairo is part of the Inkscape installer). Please be patient and wait until newer Windows packages of Inkscape will be available which include a more recent cairo version (no ETA). See also comments 16 and 20 in bug #759154.
