Path outline fails to disappear

Bug Description

Inkscape r9886 on Windows 7 x64
(side question: why does the graphic in the About page take so long to load? Is it pulled from the internet?)

To reproduce:
Go to Preferences->Tools->Node
Change Flash time to 0.
Use Inkscape as usual; every so often (roughly ~20 minutes for me), a selection cue (red trace line) will become persistent and won't go away until Inkscape is reloaded.

That's as much as I can figure out. I'm using keyboard and mouse.

Whoops; it's not a selection cue, it's a path outline. Please correct the title.

The changes from r11859 merge cleanly into <lp:inkscape/0.48.x>, and fix the display of ghost path outlines if flash time is reduced to '0'. Patch tested with 0.48.x r9960 on OS X 10.7.5).

Proposing to include the fix in 0.48.5.
