Bug Description

r11729

using ctrl + d on an object with a filter applied does not duplicate the object, using ctrl + c and then ctrl + v does successfully copy the object.

ctrl + d on a filtered object works fine on 0.48.3

using a blurred rectangle (tested with filter editor dialog closed as well as opened in the dock).

- Does it work on your system using the menu item?
- Is it related to certain types of objects and/or filter effects? (If so, please attach a sample file which exposed the reported issue consistently on your system)

ok, further investigation shows that this is how to reliably reproduce the problem:

create a text object with some text
add a filter (i just used the first filter, which is bloom.. but i guess any filter works)
then ctrl + d
then you will only see your original object..

the further investigation shows that its not that the duplication didnt work, but that for some reason the newly duplicated object is invisible and deselected.. since if you do a drag-select of the whole area, you will select some object you cant see.. if you unselect the visible object, you will see that your duplicated (invisible) object is now selected.. then you can de-activate its filter, and then reactivate and the object should now be visible...

this means that its possible that this is related to:

resizing the selected invisible duplicated object also makes it visible

I can confirm the rendering glitch with the duplicate copy of the filtered text (noticeable when moving it aside): the filtered text is only partially visible, and the visible area of the filter effect region changes when moving the object. Refreshing the view (e.g. by toggling the visibility the current layer) restores the expected rendering.

Not reproduced on OS X: the newly inserted duplicate is selected, and can be moved e.g. with the arrow keys (note: fill&stroke as well as filter editor is closed and mouse focus is on the canvas before duplicating).

Likely related to bug #243729 combined with later regressions added in the new renderer (bug #304407, bug #930593).
