Bug Description
Applying the Text>Remove Manual Kerns command on a text which is not kerned hides the text.
Steps:
1. Add some text in a new document (tested with DejaVu Sans, 28pts).
2. Zoom so that the text take the whole page height.
3. Select the text and apply Text>Remove Manual Kerns
-> The text object is still selected but no longer shows on canvas.
Updating the canvas (with zoom or unzoom) renders the text correctly again.
Reproduced on Windows XP and Debian Wheezy, Inkscape 11705.
Not reproduced with Inkscape 0.48.3.1.

Reproduced with 11704 and 11709 on OS X 10.5.8 (cairo 1.10.2) and 10.7.4 (cairo 1.12.2).
Testing with archived builds on Mac OS X 10.5.8:
- not reproduced with r10737 and older revisions
- reproduced with r10740 and later revisions
Possibly a regression related to changes in r10739… bazaar. launchpad. net/~inkscape. dev/inkscape/ trunk/changes/ 10740>
