Fill/Stroke dialog does not update on tool change

When using the Gradient or Node tool with Fill/Stroke dialog open:

1. Select a gradient stop on canvas - the Fill/Stroke shows the color of that stop.
2. Switch to another tool such as the Select tool (via mouse click or F1 key) - the Fill/Stroke dialog does not update to show the Gradient - the stop color is still shown
3. Change the color in the Fill/Stroke dialog now deletes the Gradient and sets the object to a flat color.

A similar problem happens when you deselect a gradient node inside the object

1. Select a gradient stop on canvas
2. Deselect that stop by clicking away from the Gradient line, but still *inside* the object
3. The Fill/Stroke dialog does not update to show the Gradient - the stop color is still shown
4. Change the color in the Fill/Stroke dialog now deletes the Gradient and sets the object to a flat color.

Adding tag 'regression' - AFAICT this does not happen with the gradient tool in current stable (0.48.3.1).
