Crash when setting diagram connector spacing to 0 (zero)

While a diagram connector was selected, I used the mouse to reduce the spacing to 0.
Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the crash now

Using Inkscape 0.48.2 r9819on Windows XP SP3, locale: de.

I just experienced another crash when handling diagram connectors, but completely unrelated to the "spacing" seetting (I was moving an object with connectors attached around). Unfortunately, this crash isn't reproducible either.

Reports like this without any additional information (steps to reproduce, or at least a backtrace from the crash) are nearly impossible to be further investigated (let alone "fixed").

There are already several confirmed (consistently reproducible) crashs reported which are related to connectors. You can search for example for reports tagged with 'crash' and 'connectors':

If your crashes all happened while working with the same document, please attach it to the bug report - possibly there are known triggers within (e.g. certain object types with a 'connector-avoid' attribute - possibly in combination with orthogonal connectors, or connectors across different layers with loose ends, or other internal structures (e.g. connected (nested) groups which contain certain object types), or …).

When the crashes happened, the documents weren't saved yet.
Please find attached a document similar to those I wanted to create. However, I didn't experience any crashes working with this drawing, even though the left part of it looks almost exactly like the first one that crashed.

Something similar to bug #936832 happened to me, too. Again, this was on an unsafed file.

Note that you can activate the autosave feature to save your document automatically at a given interval (File>Inkscape Preferences>Save, don't forget to give a valid path). It would minimize the risk of data loss in case of a crash, and give us a chance to have a test file to investigate.

Closing for now due to lack of reproducible test case - please reopen the report in case this type of crash happens again, and the original SVG file (as well as any emergency-saved versions from the crash) are still available and could serve as test case for further investigation.
