Bug Description

When I launch Inkscape by opening the application, it pops up a message saying this:

The first time this version of Inkscape is run, it may take
several minutes before the main window is displayed while
  font caches are built.

It gives me an OK button. At this point I can either wait, or click OK. If I click OK, the application simply exits. No new windows open no matter how long I wait, and the Icon on the task bar does not display the open-application mark. If I don't click OK, nothing ever happens. I can wait hours, but nothing happens.

It never "crashes" in the sense of showing the standard Crash dialog. It just exits. No X11 windows appear, either.

If I drag a .svg file to the application icon, the same thing happens, except that I sometimes see an X11 window.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8.

Does it still happen with 0.91 or 0.92? If yes, set status back to New.
