Bug Description
* I use Inkscape 0.48 on Windows XP (or Windows 7) *
I really love Inkscape, it is an awesome program. I would live only by it if only it weren't for the following:
When trying to import PDF of EPS files, the embedded PDF fonts are not supported by Inkscape. For example, if I import a PDF graphic which has parentheses in the axes labels, the parentheses disappear in SVG format in Inkscape. The PDF import option is essentially useless without that feature.
Therefore it would be amazing if Inkscape could:
- Support PDF fonts directly instead of trying to match its own fonts to the PDF's.
- OR at the very least provide an option for the vectorization of the PDF fonts: as it stands now there is only a "import text as text" option and no "import text as path" option in the import menu.
If this could be achieved, Inkscape would be the most amazing drawing program ever. These features are essential to make figures for scientific papers, etc.
Thank you,
B.D.
