Bug Description
Using latest lockdown version (0.48.2) on Win7
1. Sometimes happens the following: I select a path then Ctrl+J and path gets distorted at this point. Doesn't happen always. Was unable to figure the cause.
2. And another thing: Dynamic offset setting with "inkskape:radius" only works in pixels - regardless of the current document units.
3. Also related to dynamic offset: after selecting a path and Ctrl+J it is impossible to edit path anymore. What to do?
Thanks a lot.

Duplicate of Bug #550789 “Dynamic/linked Offset errors”
> 2. And another thing: Dynamic offset setting with "inkskape:radius" only works in pixels
You can enter a unit in the XML Editor (e.g. "2mm"), and Inkscape will automatically convert it to px. The document units are used for the units displayed in the GUI - most data in the SVG source is (and has to be) stored in SVG user units (px), and gets converted (on-the-fly) to the document units if displayed in the GUI.
Duplicate of Bug #171639 “GUI for linked offset” - the proper place to add a unit selector would be a new graphical interface for the amount / distance of linked and dynamic offsets.

Use a linked offset (instead of a dynamic offset) if you need to be able to edit the original path later on: tavmjong. free.fr/ INKSCAPE/ MANUAL/ html/Paths- Editing. html#id3264825>
