Bug Description

I can attach a video of this behavior, I've seen it on two machines.

The homefolder screenlet does not show the icons until I hover over it with a mouse after starting the computer up.

Do you use some kind of a window compositor?

I can't recreate this bug on arch linux xfce4. I have noticed similiar
behaviour on some screenlets when there is no compositor, it needs mouse
hover on startup to draw screenlet. So I assume that problem is in
screenlet core, but we will need some confirmation for this from people
using ubuntu.

Confirming this for ubuntu 12.04, using gnome-classic with compiz on two machines, BUT only for newly created FolderViews !!
This does not affect FolderView profiles I created before switching to ubuntu 12.04 (used Linux Mint 12 before).
I am not kidding and will try to investigate this further - stay tuned.

Ok, I solved it for me, but did not understand this completely.

I had to remove this line from the configuration of the folder view profile that did not displayed correctly without mouse over:
   expand2=Symbole vergrößern/anpassen

I did not found this option in the settings dialog, so I assume it was removed.

Maybe the original issue occurs on non-existing configuration keys? All other affected people please check their configurations in ~/.config/screenlets/FolderView/default/FolderViewX.ini as well.

btw. this seems to be a non-localized value which may be a hint for an option not implemented correctly and removed afterwards...
