Indicator Workspaces

Bug Description

I hope you would build an ubuntu 12.04 package provided that it,s an LTS version, in addition to the lack of a utility to know which workspace the user is on or the utility to move to another workspace without the need to use the Expo or Viewport switcher . Therefore indicator-workspaces for ubuntu is a must.

A work around for the time being is to download the latest version from

and then grab the required wnck libs/bindings in synaptic or the software center by hand.

Can somebody specify which are the requiered wnck libs/bindings that I have to install in orther for it to work?
I added the repository but replacing precise with oneiric and it installed without a problem, but it doesn't open

First install the required wnck library which is python-wnck.

    'sudo apt-get install python-wnck'

Then download the latest deb from http://ppa.launchpad.net/geod/ppa-geod/ubuntu/pool/main/i/indicator-workspaces/ and install it with dpkg.

    'sudo dpkg -i indicator-workspaces_0.6.4_all.deb'

Should be good to launch now. Search for "indicator". Add to startup applications. It is located in "/usr/bin/indicator-workspaces"
